If you’re sitting somewhere close to the North Pole, where it’s cold, rainy or snowy, get rid of that blanket, because it’s about to get hot here. Victoria’s Secret has launched its new Swim 2016 catalogue, and it’s going to bring all your fantasies for the upcoming summer into your daily routine. The author for the sunny images is famous fashion and celebrity photographer Guy Aroch. He is known for his legendary lens flare, relaxed, laid-back, and dreamy shots, and that’s what this catalogue is all about.
As it’s always … always warm and sunny at Victoria’s Secret (what else could it be?), the Angels have taken their sunshine to Bora Bora, where the shoots took place. The destination for ideal vacation, it had everything from wonderful sunsets to spectacular nature, and now it also has some angel dust sprinkled on its beaches.
The main themes of the Victoria’s Secret swimwear 2016 collection are bohemian and surf styles. Aroch has combined two poles, the messy femininity of the bohemian style and the badass image of the surfer. The result is before your eyes.
The Angel generation seems to be rotating, as the new catalogue introduces some of the newest Angels, like the 27-year-old Swedish stunner Elsa Hosk, who is the ultimate tease on the cover. The image of Hosk wearing The Crotchet Bikini will haunt you down for months, regardless of your gender. In fact, it’s a considerable honor for the model, as this is her first catalogue with Victoria’s Secret. Beginner’s luck? I don’t think so; it’s a well-deserved privilege for a stunning model like her.
Other Angels featured on the pages of the new catalogue include Lais Ribeiro, Taylor Hill, Sara Sampaio and Josephine Skriver. The style of this year’s catalogue might be way too similar to Instagram filters, but this might even be the intention behind the creative team. Are you relating to swimsuit photos on the beach, with a sexy filter and a vignette effect? Yes, you probably have a few on your account. Well, in that case Victoria’s Secret’s new swim catalogue is the ultimate Instagram account you can do nothing but follow.
It’s an appealing storyline of girls having fun, away from city noise, into the refreshing water and soft sand. It doesn’t even look like posing (at least most of the photos). The collection consists of prints, white pieces, black details, and some colors to brighten up the party.
And this was just the preview of the Victoria’s Secret swimwear 2016 collection, a brief intro of what to expect when the entire lineup goes up in stores on January 12th (it’s today!). If you haven’t planned any exotic vacations for this spring, you’ll still have time to observe the results of the collection, and make up your mind on a favorite piece. But if there is an adventurous trip coming up, get in line!
So, if Bora Bora is a heaven on earth and the models of Victoria’s Secret are angels, then you don’t even need to die to get your afterlife treat, just book a ticket next time the brand gets ready for a new Swim catalogue.
